Zachary is a city in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. The population is 11,275. Zachary was named for a local farmer who owned the land that became the present city of Zachary. It was the first city in Louisiana to elect a Republican Mayor. The median income for a household in the city was $49,669 and the median income for a family was $57,389. Officers smelled marijuana and called in a K-9 who alerted them to the backseat of the car.
